Remembrance Day at Great Glen Crematorium
Great Glen Crematorium is holding a special Open Chapel event on Sunday 10 November to mark Remembrance Sunday.
The event, which offers an opportunity to spend time in the chapel for a quiet moment of reflection, will take place between 10.30am and 12noon, with a two-minute silence being observed at 11am.
Visitors will be invited to light a candle in honour of a loved one.
They will also be able to write a letter or card which can be placed into the crematorium’s Letters to Heaven memorial post box.
No booking is required for anyone to attend the Open Chapel event.
Great Glen Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of cemeteries and crematoria, with 40 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.
Crematorium Manager Marc Palmer said: “Honouring lives of people who have passed on is a big part of what we do here and it feels fitting that we should commemorate Remembrance Day.
“As a nation, it’s important that we never forget those who gave their lives for us.
“Everyone is welcome to join us at our open chapel event to reflect on and remember those who fought and died in the armed forces.”
